BLAINE WESNER Founder/ President

Blaine founded Braithwaite Holdings (BH) as an investment firm and family office in 2009.  The name is a reference to the ghost town in southwestern Oklahoma near where he was born and raised.

Prior to BH, Blaine was a general partner of Austin Ventures (AV) for fifteen years, retiring from active management in 2009. During Blaine's tenure at AV, the firm grew from under $100 million of capital under management to $3 billion under management in 2009, making AV the largest venture capital firm in the Southwest. Previously, Blaine was in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department at Goldman, Sachs & Co in New York.

He is a board member of several US-based companies in which BH holds investments, and he is an engaged supporter of the Texas and Colorado entrepreneurial communities.  Blaine also works with numerous charitable and community service organizations.

Blaine received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his BA from the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with highest honors, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and served as president of the student association.

Blaine is a past recipient of the Torch of Liberty award by the Anti-Defamation League in Austin, Texas (2008) and was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (1999).
